The MOMs Club of Babylon Township – What We Do

on February 14, 2012

Come visit our next meeting! Our chapter is always open to new members. You probably won’t be the only new person there! Although some of us have lived here for years and are experienced mothers, many of us are new in town or new to motherhood! We all have one thing in common – the MOMS Club® introduced us to other moms who stay home… the ones who soon became our friends.

All of our meetings and all but one of our activities are during the day, when at home mothers need the support. All our members have input into how the club is run and are consulted on major decisions at the meeting through voting. You may attend two business meetings before you decide to become a member.

Our monthly meeting is held the first Monday of every month at 3 p.m. (We withhold the location here for security.) Please contact us at: for more information.

All chapters are fully self-supported therefore your annual dues of $20 pay for our administration costs, supplies, and programs. We understand that being a mother-at-home can mean a tight family budget, so if you need an alternative solution for membership please speak with a board member.

The MOMS Club® includes:

  • Casual get-togethers in parks and members’ homes!
  • Outings for mothers and their children!
  • Family parties around the holidays or just for fun throughout the year!
  • Playgroups for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-age children!
  • Activity groups for the mothers, like monthly MOMS Night Out, bowling, Secret Sister, or other special interests!
  • A Sunshine Committee to support other members in need.
  • A Babysitting Co-op
  • Service projects that help families in our community.

  • To provide a support group for mothers who choose to stay at home to raise their children
  • To provide a forum for topics of interest to mothers
  • To help children in the community
  • To perform at least one service project yearly

  • That women must be free to choose their personal path to fulfillment
  • That, for women who choose it, raising children is an important and fulfilling full-time job
  • That a family’s decision for a mother to stay at home to raise the children often involves financial sacrifice
  • That there is no one right way to raise children, but our members have a common concern in raising their children in a healthful way

Activity Groups

The MOMS Club® organizes Activity Groups for members with common interests.

These change as interests change. Our monthly calendar includes many different activities such as playgroups, park days, picnics, arts ‘n crafts, trips to museums and ecology centers, story times, seasonal parties, and a monthly MOMS Night Out.

Community Service

Community service is integral to the mission of the MOMS Club. Throughout the year, members are encouraged to participate in anyway they can in one of our charitable service projects that benefit our community and local families in need.

Bring your children!

We believe being a mother shouldn’t isolate you, so you may bring your children with you to all events. You don’t have to bring children to attend, but if you do, please remember you are responsible for your child’s safety and behavior. Babies are always welcome to stay with their mothers, and you may nurse at meetings. We’re all mothers here and many of us have nursed our own children.
